Anybody else feel like a Guenna pig with doctors giving so many medications?

My face twitches, my arm and fingers twitch and shake, things are going numb, and all I get are more meds. I feel like the medications are causing these things! But if I go off my meds, I probably will be denied social security. I feel invaded and controlled by all these meds and am worried about long-term effects. Most are not working anyway.
Answer:
I would reason a guess that most of these adverse symptoms are coming from the treatment of your cancer. You should speak up your concerns to your doctor. Maybe speak with your pharmacy about potential adverse reactions with your meds. I am not a doc by any means, but a possible reason for all your twitches could possibly be dehydration or a lack of potassium. See if drinking lots of water and eating things like bananas help that. The docs can also tell if this is the case through blood work. Most importantly though, find out the reason for each med, and that the doc is aware of each med you are on. And seek a second opinion.
Guinea pig.Can you see a different doctor?
if you don't want to do what your doctor says, why do you go to him? What you need to do is take all of your medications with you to see him, and discuss his reasons for having you take all of them. If you don't agree with him, then for pete's sake find a doctor you can agree with.
I took so many different meds for a condition that I have...and I had face twitches, hand shakes, weight gain...everything was not pleasant! I am not taking anything...as right now...nothing works. Advise your doctor of the side effects, and see if there is a different course of action that you can take.
What is your diagnosis?
I feel like that also but i been on since kindergarden for adhd they gave me ritalin all it did was cause me to constantly blink at a extremeley fast rate it was inhuman and distracting. I still twitch 10 yrs later it basically ruined me and i dontg like the feeling. Ask if there are any OTC drugs u can take if not then well im sorry i wish the best for you
The medications are causing all those things. But you're on Chemotherapy for the Breat Cancer, these are to be expected. But if you so choose, stop the medications and you won't have to worry about long term effects.Because you won't have a "long term". Especially not with Breast Cancer.Stick it out.
I agree with the RN: why don't you see another doctor? go see a specialist. The doctors I go to won't see you without you bringing all your medication with you, and, they make you take a blood test every six weeks to make sure everything is O.K.
It's a pain to bring all this stuff in on every visit but, I know the doctor cares and wants to keep a check on what your taking.
He looks at every bottle and looks to see when it was filled and how much your taking, there's no doubt, then the blood test every six weeks double checks the results, there's no doubt.
