Anybody have type 1 diabetes that was diagnosed after age 21? I'm just curious.?

Answer:
I was diagnosed at 21, just a couple of months before my 22nd birthday. It was at the end of my senior year of college. Boy was that a pain! All turned out well in the end, and now I'm on a pump and love it so much more than the Humalog/Lantus I was on before...When I had my pump training I met a woman who had been diagnosed at 35 or 40. I was shocked! I had heard that up till 25 was actually possible, but that's the first time I heard of that late a diagnosis. One other guy at the training had been diagnosed as a kid about 40 years ago and had had to spend a MONTH in the hospital. Wow...I'm glad technology and medicine have come farther. When I was diagnosed in 1990, I was in for 5 days and many folks now don't go in at all.

Yes, my son was diagnosed around age 25 with type 1. Neither his father nor I are diabetics.
My husband was diagnosed at age 35 with type 1.
Hi,
I was diagnosed at age 40 with type 1! Doctors first just assumed that I was T2 just because of my age and treated me as such...diet, exercise, oral meds, etc.
Finally with no results, he referred me to an Endo who "re"diagnosed me as Type 1.5 (Latent onset T1).
I was diagnosed Type I at the age of 45. Rapid weight loss(22 pounds in about a month and a half), unquenchable thirst, tired all the time,
